Q: Can I special order?
A: We're constantly finding new sources for products for our customers and are happy to special order them. We came by many of the specialty foods that we stock as a result of a customer special ordering something they bought elsewhere, sometimes while on vacation in another country. We found the source, liked the item, and started carrying it.
Q: Is there a special price for buying a large quantity of something?
A: We always give a 10% discount for a full case of a grocery item. Full cases of fruits and vegetables, whole wheels or blocks of cheese, and cases of wine are discounted also.
Q: Can State Street ship a fruit basket to another city?
A: We don't currently ship fruit baskets. We're so proud and picky about our fruit baskets that we just don't trust that they will be handled carefully and at the right temperature.
Q: Why are there different products and sometimes different prices between State Street and Cooper's Corner if they're owned and run by the same two brothers?
A: The product mix is constantly evolving at both stores depending on what our customers are asking for. Because of the space limitations, there just isn't space for everything at each location. As for different prices, sometimes one store will get a special price from a vendor because of volume and the other store doesn't, or we'll run a special at one location to generate some added sales.
Q: I've been a stay-at-home mom but now my youngest is in full-day kindergarten, and I'm looking for a little extra income. Do you ever have openings for someone who is only available on school days from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.?
A: Absolutely. We're very flexible with scheduling for our staff members and can usually tailor a schedule to meet an employee's needs whether for family, school, or second job considerations. Pick an application at either store and indicate what kinds of hours you'd like. Or, go to our online application, print it out, drop it off, mail it, or FAX it to us! |
